10 Things to Do in Lagos This Summer

SUMMER IN LAGOS means getting out of your house, braving the traffic, and exploring! Lagos’s food and activity scene is thriving – there is now more and more to do and many more options for outings. Here is FBY’s list of Things to do and where to do them in Lagos this summer.

Visit An Art Gallery

FBY recommends these two in particular:

Rele Gallery – Much like a boutique hotel version of a gallery, showcasing both established and upcoming artists, there is almost always a new exhibition on there.

Nike Art Gallery – is a bit overwhelming but here you will find art from many different artists from different eras and different styles of painting and sculpture.

Poolside Drinks

Restaurants as well as a number of hotels in Lagos offer drinks with a nice view, our favourites have to be, RSVP, The Wheatbaker Hotel, The Moorhouse and The Blowfish Hotel.

Lekki Arts & Crafts Market

Want a piece of art or a real leather product for un-exorbitant prices, visit the Lekki Arts and Crafts Market for a steal! You can also find food, furniture, jewellery and some special vintage pieces.

Beach Trip

Like Water Sports? Try your hand at surfing or paddle boarding at Tarkwa Bay or simply soak up the sun and have a little barbeque on the beach with friends. If you enjoy a boat ride, visit Ilashe and try out POP beach club where you can lay in a cabana for a day.

Have a lie-in this holiday season and get brunch with a friend, significant other or family at one of Lagos’s many restaurants. FBY recommends La Brioche on Musa Yar’Adua for a pancake, French toast or poached egg lovers!

Spa Day

Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the busy city and treat yourself to a spa break, a couple’s massage with your bestie or other half could be just what you need. FBY reccomends, Barazahi or Tirta Ayu Spa’s in Lekki.

Have a girly afternoon at The Henna Place in Lekki and try some body art or a scrub in the hamam, guaranteed to make your body look and feel great!

Italian Food

Lagos’s food scene is thriving, and a theme seems to be Italian, share a pizza or have a yummy pasta at one of Lagos’s many Italian restaurants. FBY recommends Pizze-riah on Musa Yar’Adua or La Veranda in The Blowfish Hotel.

Meditate and exercise at the same time with one of Lagos’s many Yogi’s, FBY recommends @YogaWithStacey or @chocolako on Instagram or Yoga Sutra Studio on Musa Yar’Adua in Victoria Island.

Go on a Mini Adventure

The Lekki Conservation Centre has recently been renovated, get a group of friends together and enjoy a walk through the trails and walk down the longest canopy walk in Africa.
